It's Just the Thing We Do

Well this week was gr8!!!

Monday we started off with Brother Rector cancelling on us. Said that he was having a "quiet night" and so told us to come back next week.

Tuesday wasn't anything special or out of the ordinary either. We were quite lazy that day. It's when I realized that the hardest door of the day is actually my own. I've gotten past the point where knocking doors is not fun. It's just the thing we do.... forever. It makes the day go by fast though so that's a plus. We had some super good french dip sandwiches for dinner though so that was a great ending to the day.

Wednesday was better. We got into a semi-bash with a conservative southern baptists. Whatever that means I'm not sure. She asked us questions about the Book of Mormon being added to the bible but we took care of that quite nicely. Then she went into stuff that was ridiculous about something how angels come down and are the ones that create babies or something? She said that she hadn't done research for 5 years and then my companion said that she should research some more because we've already proven all these ones wrong 5 years ago. Get em' elder Christensen! We tracted a lot more than that too. We had some Bacon Cheeseburgers for dinner by my request. Also homemade french fries mmmm. Then we went tracting some more after that.

Thursday we had good ol' district meeting. That was a party. Then we went and tracted after that. No one exciting this day either. The only odd thing we ran into was a lady said she doesn't believe in Jesus the same way we do and that she believes in the 5 entities? I have no idea what that is and she shut the door before I could even ask her. You never know with some people. We had dinner with the Harrison's who just got their mission call to Germany for family history or something. We had many bratwurst hotdog things. I'm also a fan of Saur Kraut. It's not as bad as most people say. Afterwards we went and did splits with Brother Anderson and visited a family to share the ward mission plan. The husband is yet another non-member but should be. I think there are about 6 families like that. It's so weird.

Friday after all the planning we went and tracted! Yayyyyy! We met a cool guy who lived in a bro house. 3 trucks outside and they were playing some Call of Duty inside. Seemed like the life to me. We had tacos for dinner and the kids were telling super awkward jokes the whole time. I was laughing so hard at some of them and the mom was like I'd send them all to their room for saying these jokes but your face is too red to tell them to do that. Hahaha. Then we went on exchanges that night.

Saturday was a fun filled day of.... TrAcTiNg!!!! I even worked out that morning too in the basement. I was super sore afterward and still kind of am. Forgot why I quit that stuff. I was with Elder Barker from the Ponderosa ward. He's pretty funny and cool. Not quite as overbearing as my companion is currently. Never told me to repent and be better. We didn't have dinner with anyone that night but Sister Leon still came and dropped off some dinner to us. She also brought us Bananas and Oranges because she heard that I hated walmart fruit. After she brought some bananas the last time I lost all conviction to buy bananas from walmart again. We went to bed an hour early to account for the time change. As a missionary I love this time change because it's now lighter, later. People don't get so mad at us now tracting at 7:30.

Sunday we had some good meetings. Ward Council was intense because we were talking about how we were tracting a lot and the bishop was like ok everyone take two minutes and write down what you are going to do to find someone for these guys to teach. That was cool to see. Now we will see what these people have in mind. I was forced to sing in Ward Choir.... It was probably one of the hardest things I've done so far. People kept tossing around words like "Tenor" and stuff like that. I told them that I had never sang before and of course they say they will take anyone. I'm almost positive they regretted making me sing. Hahahaha I didn't know what was going on. When the piano doesn't play the part I'm supposed to sing I can't do it... Then we also taught gospel principles. Had lunch after church. The wind was blowing like 10000 mph outside. Had dinner with the Leavitt's who fed us some roast beast and potatos. :)

What an exhilarating week we had. I hope next week is 10 times better! 🤗👍
