Happy birthday to Josh and Jessica of course! One day older and wiser too!
My new companion is doing well. He likes to question everything though and is too serious about everything. Trying to break him into having a little fun... its a work in progress you could say.
Investigators are at a stall right now because they just won't keep commitments as much as we would like them too. This week I'll give em a kick in the pants and hopefully spark em up a bit.
I guess I'll just talk about the few main things that happened this week. Wednesday we had Zone meeting, I feel like that's just a meeting where we go to get told what we are doing wrong. There is nothing wrong with that except that it makes us feel like we don't do anything good. So yeah! Love Zone Meetings!
The Christmas Devotional was super awesome and laid back. We spent like the first 4 hours doing skits and singing with Santa Claus and stuff like that. Then we got kicked out of that building because of some funeral or other and we went to a different one for the actual devotional. That's where a dude named Paul Anderson came and talked to us. I guess he's the producer of Piano Guys. He was super funny and just dissed himself for being unpopular and a nerd is whole life. Pretty funny guy. He showed us a few of the videos that they put out like the one where the old guy sings Silent Night at the old church with the kids. That one was pretty cool to see. I think that came out last year though.
I got to see a lot of my friends from the MTC so I got to see Elder Black my MTC comp! It was good to see him. We got the letters that our families sent us. Funny story my buddy Elder Wagner from piney creek didn't get a letter from his parents so Pres. and Sister Mendenhall wrote him a letter basically saying, "Your parents don't hate you they're just busy" then Saturday I think Elder Wagner got a package from his parents and they wrote a letter saying "Your mission president told us to send a letter about Jesus but we didn't feel like it so that's why we sent this" His parents crack me up. He in general just makes me laugh. That was about as exciting as my week got. Hopefully all of yours was better!
Note: It cracks me up that he refers to Placido Domingo (one of the most renown of all Tenors/Vocal artists) as the "the old guy" It is currently my favorite rendition of Silent Night.
