Tuesday last week was well spent on exchanges with the mighty zone lords. We started the day off with going to Promise Ranch which is a theraputic ranch thingy for kids to go ride horses. We basically just did the chores which involved stocking the hay, and mucking the stalls. I'm basically a rancher now. So when people ask I can say yeah I've done some horse stuff..... Then I sat around for an hour listening to the Zone Leader do this conference call thing with the whole mission and the AP's. Then we went tracting for the rest of the day. Had dinner at this super good BBQ place. Hickory House... has big awards or so they claim... even won some competitions in the south.... so Idk if it's legit. That night we met a super chill guy named chad. He let us in and we talked for a bit. He's single and 35. Married to his two Huskies pretty much. Jsut goes and camps by himself every weekend. Super cool guy though.
Wednesday I can't remember because I remember that we had to change all plans do to dinner complications and I didn't write any of it down. Anyhow, the Bursons are still doing great.
Thursday we had district meeting which I thought went super well. I invited the Zone LEaders which keeps me on task and not to mess around too much. I still slip in lots of jokes but we learn lots. Then we had interviews that day as well. I only have one more with President Mendenhall before he leaves. Had dinner with the Shepherd family but I had no Chevy jokes to tease him this time. I have ran out.
Friday was miserable. We walked out of the house and it started snowing... literally. Like it looked bad outside but it was dry. We took 10 steps and it just hit us with rain. Then it snowed later I guess. We got to dinner soaked....... they made fun of us being soaked. Good members... good members. My hair was dripping all through dinner. So we just went home after that because I don't think people would've answered their door.
Saturday it snowed all day..... There was about 13" of snow on the ground by the time it stopped Middle of Saturday night. Didn't stick to the streets or sidewalk because of ground temp which was a blessing also a curse because that meant other missionaries could drive... We tracted some in the snow but same results as usual during the snow. people wave us off through the window or tell us to go home. We stopped by a mother and son activity at the church and it seemed super fun. They had a room full of nerf guns where you shoot the Alien balloons but mid rotation Elder Haws and I would take turns shooting each other or doing quick draw things.
Sunday was a regular day. We tracted some more but no adventurous stories. I've given up the sarcastic approaches of guilting people into listening to us. it's exhausting trying to think of things on the spot so I just let them tell us they aren't interested and why they aren't and why we shouldn't go back. I was enlightened on the hobby of coin collecting all of dinner hour from a 10 year old kid. The parents asked if we could take him with us to give them a break. Sorry that's against the rules and I've never been so happy about the rules.
Monday was another mind bending day thinking it was Tuesday all day long.... But it wasn't! We went to Goodwill and helped them out a bit. Then after we went to the Lady who manages the goodwill and helped her move like 200 pavers from the backyard. She fully furnished her house from Goodwill and it looks dang nice. She's got like 3 tvs in her basement so she can watch two games at once on Sundays..... Double breaking the sabbath ;) just kidding.
Tuesday we tracted a lot but we lived. The sun wasn't out but it was warm and that's what counts. We talked to a guy who gave us a history lesson. Not the "darn" "flippin" revisionsist historian "Crap" they teach in the schools. He's from the south and the whole time I was thinking... holy smokes. This is all Hayden deals with. Which brings us to now. It's snowing at the moment but luckily we don't have to walk in it....
