Hello friends and family!
I just wanted to say thank you for all your guys' support and prayers. I can see every day how they affect me and my companions. It's been a busy time here at the MTC in Provo. Everyone was not joking when they said you don't waste anytime when serving a mission. We spend every minute we are awake either studying, teaching, or eating. There are no breaks and it was kinda of hard to deal with the first couple of days because it felt like I was getting too much information and no time to process it. We hit the ground runnin' when we arrived and went straight to meetings and the classroom. The second day we were able to teach our first "investigator." They were actually our teacher but it felt like the real thing. Let me tell you, I have a lot of learning to do while staying here at the MTC. I don't feel like I know how to say anything right when we are with an investigator but I know that through God's help that anything is possible. (Alma 26:12). I am learning a lot of scripture references and doing my best to memorize the verse that goes with them. They say that is the best way to get to know the scriptures better. I have also been blessed with the perfect companion for my stay at the MTC. He doesn't take my jokes and sarcasm TOO seriously which is good because otherwise we would not get along. His name is Elder Black and he is from Lancaster, South Carolina.
I know that this is the true church and there is no other way to go. Without the Lord I would have no idea where I would be, what I would be doing and who I am. I think back on my life and realize the blessings I have had growing up and being surrounded by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Thank you all again for your wishes of good luck and prayers.
I love you all,
-Elder Fonger
