Small World

On Monday this week we just hung out with the new Elders in the Piney Creek ward. And went to dinner at Sister Larsens. She is a Packers fan and was not very happy about the turnout of the Broncos and Packers game. Needless to say she was cranky and it didn't help that Elder Millburn was rubbing it in.

Tuesday Elder Millburn had DLC's again because he's the District Leader. All I do is go and hang out with the other Elders who are companions with District Leaders.

After that we went to an appointment with Delaney to try and start teaching her the Plan of Salvation but she wasn't home. Well the week before that when we met with her after we finished and were walking back to our car we met a guy named Adoms. He's from Ghana and has been in the USA for about 5 months. He told us to come back and visit him often. So Tuesday after the appointment with Delaney fell through we went and visited Adoms. He lives with a guy named Thomas and he's from Nigeria. But he's been living in the US for about 20 years. They are super awesome people. Adoms even came to church yesterday. And he can speak 7 different languages including English. He says he wants to cook us some Ghana food. He told us that once we have some Ghana food we'll go back to our mothers and tell them we don't want their food anymore. Just Ghana food. So hopefully it's as good as he says... haha. On Wednesday

We went back to Chelsea Place. I tell you what... maybe I'll work at an old people home. It's so much fun going there. Something new happens every time we visit. This week just Elder Millburn and I went on Wednesday, sometimes we bring the Piney Creek Elders. All the residents were thrown off because of the time change. I guess the workers there never changed their watches for them. They all showed up to dinner an hour early and were wondering why it was taking so long to get the food out. They were not happy campers. They all were thinking that it was a conspiracy and that they were going to starve to death. I think it was the funniest thing that happened there yet. Then on Thursday we went back because it was one of the resident's birthdays. It's kind of sad because every time we went and said happy birthday she forgot it was her birthday.

Friday nothing happened out of the ordinary. We just did our weekly planning. Same thing Saturday djst normal Missionary stuff that day. We had dinner with the Lairds. They are just a couple that met at BYU. They are super cool. They just got plates so they said that we could go to their house for dinner. Sunday was fun because we got to go to the Anderson's for dinner. Not much else has happened. We have Stake Conference this coming weekend. I'm excited to see what goes down there.

One of my favorite scriptures that I've discovered recently is Proverbs 3:5-6. It talks about trusting in the Lord. I feel like that is necessary for being on a mission. I have seen the blessings that come from trusting in the Lord at every turn. Hopefully being out here gets nothing but better. I love you all.

From Heather:  *Just a side note I got a message from Kathy Nall this morning saying that her sister that lives in Aurora, CO just had the missionaries over for dinner.  Yep, that was Elder Fonger.  Small world.  Also, Karita (Marc's neice) is in Aurora right now for some training for her work and she is dropping a treat off for Jordan.  As Tye says, "Mom he's just a state away!"
