Bomb Casserole Thingy--It's Really About the Food

The new area is freakin' awesome. It's like moving from the Pad Crew to the Blast Crew all over again. So nice up here in Brighton. The people are just nicer in general because they are all farmers. Our ward boundaries are flippin' huge! There's just nothing out there though haha. Lots and lots of fields that just go on forever and ever. I'm so glad that I got moved. It sounds bad but it's the wholehearted truth. So right now we live with Brother Kovach temporarily. The people we normally live with (The Gagon's) are having a family reunion and so we had to move out for like 2 weeks. Hopefully we go back in this Saturday because where we are right now is an addition to the house and he didn't plumb it for A/C... so yeah it gets super hot up there. This is the address of Brother Kovach

This change definitely has been for the better. Like Oh my goodness I hope I stay up in this area of the mission for the rest of mine. I wouldn't mind getting transferred to Boulder either. I know I know though.... Can't win everything so that's probably not gonna happen.

This week was crazy. I'm pretty exhausted adjusting and meeting new people and stuff. Tuesday, I pretty much spent the whole day packing and cleaning. Got everything ready to be transferred.

Wednesday we went to the church building and got on the van to ride up to Brighton. I hate riding that van... it's always so hot and just a mess. Got to the new area just fine. We have a car up here but they blew all the miles already so we still have to bike a heck ton. Had dinner with the Leavitt family and they made this bomb casserole thingy. Super good stuff there. Then that night we went and helped someone move. They have a semi truck and trailer so that was easy peasy fitting all the stuff in there. It was like a picture perfect farmhouse too. Got the big ol' tree in the front yard with tire swing on it. Ducks walking around and huge couches...

Thursday morning we went out to Barr Lake and helped pick up wood and stuff. Dumped it in the wood pile that they will be burning later. We had District meeting later that day and then after that we went and visited our Investigators. 2 of them are gonna get baptized on the 30th of July. That's Wendy and Dan. Wendy is a lesbian grandmother and she got permission from President to be baptized. Dan is just a chill dude that will be marrying Wendy's daughter soon. Hopefully before the 30th so he can get baptized on the same date. There was a 3rd one that was gonna get baptized but he's a raging alcoholic and they said he had to stop drinking so he cold turkey quit drinking and it sent him into shock and had seizures and stuff so he went to the hospital and was completely detoxed. Then he relapsed the other day so he can't quite get baptized yet. Went to Chik-Fil-A for dinner that night because dinner cancelled on us.

Then Friday we did weekly planning of course. Met with the ward mission leader for Buffalo Run talked about our week with him.

Saturday morning is when we were out at Barr Lake again for the big appreciation thing. We went out and helped stain a boardwalk thing. It was sooooo long. probably like a quarter mile long and we almost stained the whole thing. The guy in charge was super suprised. I'm not sure how well the fish took it though because I wasn't trying to be neat at all.... looked like another oil rig spilled in the ocean again... Then we had to go home shower and do studies and all that exciting stuff. Can't remember what we did the rest of that day because Saturdays are usually boring and not worth remembering.

Sundays are super nice now though. We don't have to go to Ward Council every week and the way church lines up we only go to one Sacrament meeting and all 3 blocks of the other. The church building we go to is brand new. They've only been using it for like 3 months now. oh and I forgot to say that on Thursday night as well is when President came and Interviewed Dan and Wendy for us. My new Companion's name is Elder Bowers. He's from Mesa Arizona. Played a lot of Rugby and with fireworks... I'm about 6 months older than him and we went to the MTC together. This is my 3rd companion that I've come out with now. Pretty cool stuff for sure! I'm excited to see where this area goes! It's so fun and lots of cool people I've met already. Here goes!
