Oh yes! I love Elder Empey he is wayyyy cool! It's funny he says that he likes my good attitude even when it's snowing and like -50 degrees with 200 mph winds. It wasn't quite that bad but I'm sure glad that I'm not homeless during this part of the year. Oh yeah Sister Buckwalter is so awesome. (Sister Buckwalter sent us a text picture this week) That night we were like, hey, we don't have a dinner and she was like well lets go get something! So we went and got Thai food? It was alright but seemed like overpriced spaghetti with chicken and weird white root bean things.
oh wow... I've been lying the whole time. It snowed Thursday not Tuesday Too lazy to go back and change that though. sorry haha. We did some Service on Tuesday at DenUM. Just sorted some nasty smelling salad from the less nasty smelling salad. Let me tell ya. I'm glad I don't have to go to food banks either. But they do help those people in need so that's awesome.
Saw Tim as well. The blind guy that has like over 500 cd's in his place. AND he has their position and shelf all memorized.... my companion wanted to switch some of them around. I was like, "Dude, that's terrible. Lets do it" But we never did don't worry.
Wednesday was a big long day of nothing. Well that's what we planned it for. We were gonna be knocking on doors alllll day long. But it was all good. We went and gave a blessing that morning which took us to lunch. Then afterward we had to meet the Zonelords to pick up Elder Empey's package. He can't stand the apples here so he had his mom send him some through the mail. I'm not gonna lie. They are pretty dang good. But the last time I ate an apple was probably back in Spring Creek. I didn't even know there were different types of apples either. The kind you are supposed to use for apple pie is pinata apples. The best kind to eat are either. Fuji or Honeycrisp. Who knew??/
We had dinner with the Barnett's that night. They told us all about the drug deals that go on outside their house since they live right downtown. He told us who were the dealers and stuff. They have that corner they always do it at because it's perfect right by the train and on the corner of 3 streets so that you can see any cop for a long time
Thursday we had district meeting with the brand new district leader as Elder Watkins left. Sad day. Had dinner with the St. John's that night. They are always super cool and make me miss home though because it's just a house full of 4 boys! Had a lesson with Colleen who is still having lots n lots of health problems. Said she was gonna try and make it to church but only if the weather cooperates.
oh by the way Thursday was the day we spent like 90 minutes trying to catch a bus to take us to an appointment. We had to go from wayyyy south to wayyyy north. We came from Richard's house. the guy with the parrot that goes everywhere with him. So we were like 60 mins late to our next appointment. Basically sprinting in the snow and sleet. Freeeeezing cold. Finally got on the bus. Arrived and the guy called and asked where we were and I told him we just arrived, what is your apartment number. Then he's like Oh, I thought we were meeting at the mall.... Ugh. So we cancelled that one. The mall was wayyyyy back where we were. haha
Friday wasn't all that bad. We were on the Colorado News for helping/donating to Catholic charities $45,000 worth of turkey. that's like 3,000 turkey's. There was nothing special about Friday except we did the Sacrament thing again. And it was veteran's day so Chuck went and got free Applebee's.
Saturday we had a lesson with a gal named Rachel who was a former investigator. Wants to be baptized so we will see where that takes us. Hopefully further than Theo. Gave a talk at a baptism as well that day. Antonio was a guy the Sisters Taught. He was like a pastor for some church for like 20 yrs. Sunday Antonio actually showed up to be confirmed so that was awesome. Then Monday is when we delivered a million dinners. Overall it was a pretty good week! Just hopefully it goes back to being 70 degrees and sunny. But people told me that's not going to happen.
