It's Beginning to Look A Lot Like Christmas

Week 67! (I'm not really sure if it's actually week 67 or not haha)

Monday. Family Home Evening was an adventure. I had no idea what our lesson was going ot be so we made Christmas cards. Chuck things I'm a little "gayish" because all my lessons have either been snowflakes, airplanes or cards haha. I just keep telling him I'm the happiest guy he'll ever meet. :) 😁

Tuesday it was a balmy 60 degrees outside! We saw Mike again and read through the Christmas story again. He's like a kid so the stories he loves and enjoys so much! But so do I... Not sure what that says but whatevs.  We had dinner with John Harris. He's a super cool guy. His wife is a nonmember. He does have a deep pocket... And when we showed up for dinner I walked in and almost died of a heart attack. There was a Lion carpet with the head still on it and oh boy I thought that Simba was back from the dead to get me. They laughed and laughed and laughed at me. I guess they have people do that all the time. Then he pointed out a rug he had hangingn on the wall. He said that it's too expensive to have on the ground so they hang it up. If you can have a legit lion rug but not a patched fur rug that thing must be hecka expensive. Probably 10 times what my whole mission cost.

Wednesday we had zone conference!!! It was all Christmas -a-fied. Which I guess is against the rules or something President says. But he's like, you deserve Christmas so here we go. It was super fun. We spent the first bit doing these music skits or something. We were assigned different songs and our zone was assigned Joy to the World. We had some guitars the piano and fancy part singers... I just hummed a long because I have no idea how to sing haha. There were some better than others for sure... We had dinner with Bro. Barnett. He's the vegan guy but makes bomb dinners. He even says that his favorite food is a pulled pork sandwhich. Not sure how that figures but it does. Afterwards we went trying by some people. It took forever to travel places though.

Thursday wasn't too cold either. We had lunch with Chuck and the sisters. This was their last day being a missionary! They go home before Christmas but transfers aren't until after. So whoever is in the MTC right now... well God bless them. We taught a lady named Melissa. We knocked on her door a couple days before just tracting and she was like " I thought you were gonna call and set up an appointment" I just jumped in and said that we lost her phone number realizing she thought we were Jehovah's witness. But we stole that prize and are now teaching her. We had a super deep lesson on Adam and Eve and their fall. Then we had dinner with ourselves back at the apartment. Then went out Caroling with the Zone on the 16th Street Mall! President was there and I was out passing Light the World cards light candy and talking to tons of people! Gotta look good in front of the boss right? Didn't get home until super late though because no one was willing to give us a ride home.

Friday is when the Weather tanked. It was 50 the night before and woke up to like 0 degrees outside. But we went out anyway cause it's gonna get us a good story somehow or another. We went to Lloyd's house and Georgina's house. Both still a mess. We went out knocking doors and we would ask if we could come in for a bit and either teach or get warm and all the people would say is, sorry it's too cold for that. No joke haha that's what they would say. C'mon people... That night we went downtown to carol on the mall with the ward but we couldn't find anyone. Ran into some other ward members though and since it was super duper cold and the wind going hardcore, they invited us to go get hot chocolate with them so we did. Then we went to Colleen and it was snowing so hard!!!! You couldn't even see! And we got to Colleen's and everyone in there was smoking a cig even her. She's got her oxygen tube hung off her lamp a lighter in one hand cig in the other, ice tea on the table  and a weed pipe nearby  watching some satanic movie. And then our member was playing with the dogs using a laser pointer. What a mess.

Saturday we woke up to about 6"-7" of snow. We went to the Christmas Breakfast which had quite the turnout. More than I thought would be daring to venture out in this nature mess. Nothing too extra ordinary happened. We talked to a lady named Shannon who just started crying because she is moving but back to her family... Leave it to missionaries to walk up to people and leave them crying haha. We didn't have any other plans the rest of the day so we didn't have much success because of the cold hah.

Sunday was an adventure. We had the Christmas program that day and showed up and the church was freezing!!!!! And the microphone stopped working! It was a good program and stuff but they then cancelled church afterward. I've been waiting like 6 years for church to be cancelled and all it took was a broken furnace.... I'll keep that in mind 😝 Sunday night we went and taught Richard again. Well we actually just dragged him to a lesson with us. I'm sick of that man and his unwillingness to do anything. But his friend Donald is super cool and actually does stuff and listens. So we go and talk to him. But Richard kept getting all negative and stuff. THat's the last time we ever take him somewhere haha. Overall it was a pretty slow and cold week but it's now Christmas week! Wohoooo! Merry Christmas! Love you!
