But lets start wayyyy back on a week ago Tuesday! So that was Elder Sato's 21st Birthday!!!! I told him he could now drink "Sake" (Japanese alcohol) but he said that in Japan they can be 20 and drink... It was a good day though. Brother Rector fed us lunch. He can make some good Fish tacos! and of course we had some birthday cake leftover from Brother Rectors party. I'm not really sure what else we did that day since I forgot my planner back at home that reminds me of all the goods. Lots of tracting if I remember right.
Wednesday was the missionary broadcast. That was good, it was a little on the cheesy side of things. It opened up and they gave "us" a tour of the church office building or something. Then the guy was like "Oh! It looks like they are about to start" and we "joined" in on this meeting that they had talking about missionaries. There was some good things talked about though. I remember Elder Bednar saying, "The way you know that you are successful is if you just quit worrying about it." It was quite profound in my eyes. After that we went out again doing the same old door knocking. After dinner we stopped by Sister Savage who previously told us to call before coming over but she would never answer her phone. I was ready for some fire and brimstone to come out of that door when she opened it but she was super nice and gave us some hot chocolate.
Thursday we had district meeting in the morning. It was also first day of the new schedule. We spent the whole meeting just discussing the broadcast. I was writing down all the questions they had because there was so much that didn't make sense. But we have since solved all the problems and are now good to go! We were also on Exchanges that day. Elder Scott came with me. He has only been out for a month or so. So I cracked a few greenie jokes because I just can't help it. We spent the whole day doing service for a guy in the ward who is putting a bunch of stuff in Storage. Then that night we had dinner with Bro. Shepherd who is a hardcore Chevy fan so I had to poke fun at that because it's always fun to do that to these hardcore car people. We then went splits that night which I'm sure was awkward for E. Scott since it wasn't even his ward... Oh well he said that it was fine.
Friday we had a district leader meeting where I could ask my vast amount of questions concerning the new changes. It was a good meeting. Then we went home and did weekly planning. After that we had ddinner with the Brunner family. She made some good enchiladas. Elder Sato loved them although they made him feel sick. then we went home because he was sick hahaha.
Saturday morning we had a Stake Breakfast. We cooked our own french toast but no one could crack eggs... like huh? So I had to crack like 36 eggs. It was fun and not even a single egg shell ended up in the batter. We were on exchanges as well that day with the Zonelords. Helped move some 2x4's for a guy who is finishing his basement and We tracted a lot but nothing came from it.
Sunday we had good ol' church. We got to go to sharing time to talk about the ward mission plan with the primary kids. We had dinner at 4pm and then went to a Recent Conversion Fireside. It's actually way cool. Every 6 months the stake puts on this fireside where members who just joined or came back speak and share their testimonies.
Monday we walked like 8 miles because it was too nice of a day to rush and ride our bikes. We Stopped by a lot of people but we weren't able to get into contact with anyone. We were on our feet for 7 straight hours and when we showed up at the house where we were having dinner there was nobody home. They were still at the grocery store. So we just sat on their porch until they got home haha. Then they continued to feed us some tacos which were pretty good. We finished the night with a game of chess which I'm teaching Elder Sato how to play. He's not very good considering that I can beat him.
Tuesday was pretty much the same but we did stop by Danny and talked with him a bit. We kept telling him that he needs to stop wasting money on Cigarettes. He spends like $5000 a year on them-- we calcualted for him. Well that and Weed combined. We had dinner with Brother Burson who is a returning less active-- also the guy we helped move the 2x4's for. He plays this game called Warhammer and it's super intense. He paints and builds all his own models or something? I don't quite understand. It's like risk I guess.
After that we saw Brother Rector again who expressed some concerns he has a bout the church, specifically African Americans and the Church's past with them. Also how pure the word of God can go through a man (Pres. Monson).
