Monday we had p-day obviously I told you about that one already.
Tuesday was fun. After we emailed we went and tracted forever! Didn't get any potentials that day. I'm pretty sure we handed out like 5 book of mormons though. That's a good thing. That night we were taken to Del Taco for dinner and the guy told us that he is going to give a Book Of Mormon to every single one of his clients at work. He's got like 150 clients or something... wow. That's a member missionary if I ever saw one. That night we saw a guy named TJ who was on the ward list. We weren't expecting him to be nice but we showed up and he let us in! We had a good chat. He is not really motivated towards religion. He literally told us he's more into computer games than anything else... So I guess you could say that video games are his religion!
Wednesday came back to the library and Elder Christensen did his thing with 'My Plan' or whatever. I sat and read a book disobediently about demons and this 13 year old kid who hunts them. Only got like 2 chapters before I got bored again. Normal books don't have the taste they used to I guess I don't know... We went tracking again but actually found a lady who told us to come back. It was pretty fluid though so we will see this week if she is legit or not. Tracted some more after that then had dinner with the Cottle family. They talked to me about running and how they say that after running a lot you get to the point where 10 miles isn't that much... psh. Yeah right. They also told me to come back to visit so that we can go backpacking over in the Rockies. After Dinner we saw the Souza family for a bit. Brother Souza finished his walking dead sculpture and it looks so sick. But we had to leave because they got a call from her mom saying she bought a mini fridge but can't fit it into her car... Silly moms....
Thursday we did district meeting. The zone leaders came and gave some presentations that the mission told them to come and give. They took forever but that's alright. I didn't have much planned for that meeting. After that we went tracting in the snow.... it was so terrible. We sat in our room looking out the window for like 40 mins deciding if we were really gonna go out there. We did but no one likes to answer their door during it. All the members are like, "It's perfect tracking weather!" Haha you go out and tract in it then.... The people don't answer the door because they don't want to tell us to go back out in the snow and really don't want to let us into their homes. We did talk to a lady who is convinced that all mankind is going to hell because we are all sinners and Jesus Christ only chose a few people to save in his Atonement. She went off about God making the plan for us and that he chose who he wants to save. So I asked her that if he created the ancient americans who never had a chance to receive the gospel right? God made them sin... never gave them a chance and now he is sending them to hell.... I thought I had "confounded" her right. But she looked at me in the eye and said, "yes!" Hahaha I sure am glad I don't believe in that god that's all I have to say. I am grateful though she let us in to get warm for a few minutes! After that we did splits with the ward missionaries. I went with a guy and we just dropped by random people who didn't want to let us in. It happens...
Friday we had weekly planning. Then afterwards went out tracting.... but hey! We found someone more solid than most of the people we find here! Her name is Carli and her dad was a member. She went to EFY and all that growing up. We asked if we could come back and talk about it and stuff and she said yeah! I would like to make my own decision about all this. But spoiler alert! She cancelled her appointment for Sunday night. Sad day.
Saturday we had a DLC with the zone leaders talking more about district stuff and how to tell the missionaries they aren't doing a good enough job in a standoffish way. Then we went tracting some more. We had dinner with the Tueller family who talked about Hitler being a good leader the whole time. Awkward. After dinner we saw Stephanie who has concerns about the 3 degrees of glory. Who has concerns about that? hahaha. It seem pretty straight forward to me... So we talked about that for a bit. Went home after.
Sunday we did some good meeting stuff. Church was fun we went into a primary class and talked about being a witness! Told them to tell their friends about the book of mormon. If their parents won't give us people to teach maybe they can! :) During dinner Carli called and that is when she cancelled. Bummer so we had to regroup and go tracting again. At 8pm... I don't even know if that's culturally acceptable. Oops. haha.
So you could say that it was character building week! I always think it's funny that normally the mean people are the little old ladies. They always just wave us off through the window or open the door with a smile and when they see us, they scowl and say go away. Geez.... I thought they were stereotypically nice.
